THE BUZZ: Another legendary name in gaming is hoping to return via fan support through KickStarter. This time, it’s the beloved “man meets magic and machine” world of Shadowrun.

EGM’s TAKE: Shadowrun is a name that I know but am not so familiar with. I do know it’s a very beloved series—and I know that 2007’s Shadowrun first-person shooter wasn’t quite what longtime fans were wanting.

The project they were wanting, however, may soon be in development. From the Shadowrun Returns KickStarter page:

Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun, is back and Shadowrun Returns (for Apple & Android tablets and PCs) is the game that Shadowrun fans have been waiting for a long time. A graphically rich 2D turn-based single player game with deep story interaction, meaningful character development, and highly-contextual tactical combat, Shadowrun Returns is not only going to make some old geeks (like us) very happy but it will introduce new players to a dynamic gaming universe that is beloved around the world.

In the time it’s taken me to watch the video on the game’s KickStarter page and write this text, Shadowrun Returns has seen its funding go up by around $10,000. The game is already halfway to its goal in under a day—so I’m not too worried that it’ll hit the $400,000 it needs before its 24 day run is up.

If you’d like to help make sure the Shadowrun Returns dream becomes a reality, hit its KickStarter page and show your support.
