The Legend of Zelda

Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is getting an expansion pass.

The $20 pass grants access to two DLC packs for the game that will be released later in 2017. Alongside these two pieces of DLC, expansion pass holders also get three bonus treasure chests that can be found in the Great Plateau and contain useful items and exclusive in-game clothing.

The first DLC is scheduled to arrive this summer and introduces a new Cave of Trials challenge, a new “Hard” difficulty mode, and an “additional map feature.” While the second DLC will launch in winter 2017 and adds new story content, a new dungeon, and additional challenges.

Nintendo notes that these DLC packs are only available via the expansion pass and cannot be purchased separately.

The expansion pass will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game on March 3rd.
