The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords available free on 3DS eShop through this weekend

Posted on January 30, 2014 AT 11:39am

For the next few days, 3DS and 2DS owners can grab The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition from the eShop for free, Nintendo announced today.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords originally debuted on Game Boy Advance in 2002. While largely similar to any typical Zelda installment, Four Swords’ conceit was two- to four-player multiplayer that saw players controlling a different colored Link (green, red, blue, and purple) to navigate dungeons by cooperatively solving puzzles and competing to score the most rupees. Anniversary Edition, which first hit DSiWare in 2011, added in a single-player mode that allows players to swap between two Links using the L and R buttons.

Four Swords will be available to download for free until Sunday, February 2 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (2:59 Eastern Time).
