Fans have been clamoring for a Nintendo Direct ever since the last Direct Mini in January, and Nintendo is finally delivering.
In a recent announcement on Twitter, Nintendo revealed that the next Nintendo Direct will be dropping on Thursday, March 8th, at 2 p.m. PT.

According to the tweet, this Nintendo Direct will showcase both upcoming Nintendo 3DS and upcoming Nintendo Switch games. While the announcement didn’t give a list of everything we’ll see, it did specifically mention Mario Tennis Aces, an upcoming game in the Mario Tennis series that was unveiled during the last Direct Mini. Mario Tennis Aces will be the first Mario Tennis game since 2005 to feature a story mode.
The Nintendo Switch has several other games we’d like to see make an appearance. We know that Bayonetta 3, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, and a still-untitled Yoshi game are all in the works, and we’re still waiting on more word about Metroid Prime 4 and the Pokémon game in development for Switch.
While the announcement says the Direct will focus on games, we might also hear more about the upcoming Nintendo Labo line of cardboard accessories, set to launch in April, or about Nintendo’s online services, now scheduled to launch in fall 2018.
