The New Xbox One Experience will arrive on November 12th, bringing backward compatibility support and a new UI to Microsoft’s console.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced the launch date for the new Windows 10–based system software during the Halo 5: Live, an event on YouTube designed to celebrate the worldwide launch of Halo 5: Guardians.
Spencer highlighted the increased speed offered by the update, as well as the hotly anticipated ability to play Xbox 360 games.
“We’re going to launch the new Xbox experience on November 12th,” Spencer said. “We feel great about the date. That’ll come with the backward compatibility, people will be able to try out the new operating system, the new UI. It’s incredibly fast.”
The New Xbox One Experience was still suffering from a handful of major issues as of the last test version released to Preview Program members—hopefully Microsoft has the time to squash any lingering bugs in the next few weeks.
