The Order 1886

The Order: 1886 might be pencilling itself in for release next fall.

That news comes courtesy of a Twitter exchange between Tim Moss, director of technology at Sony Santa Monica, and Andrea Pessino, co-founder and CTO of Ready at Dawn Studios, that pegs the alt-history Victorian England shooter for the third quarter of next year.

Both men, of course, have close ties to The Order—Ready at Dawn being the primary developer and Sony Santa Monica aiding in some currently unknown capacity. That means Moss’s casual mention that the game will be out “next fall” might be more than an assumption.

While this is far from official confirmation, it’s reasonable to assume that Sony would want a major first-party exclusive to hit during that timeframe, and at the moment, The Order: 1886 seems a more likely candidate than the still-unnamed Uncharted sequel.
