Sir Galahad and the other Knights of the Round Table in The Order: 1886 will only carr as many weapons as they can realistically hold, creative director Ru Weerasuriya told Game Informer.
Speaking with Game Informer on a special edition podcast recently during which he answered fan questions, Weerasuriya said that developer Ready at Dawn decided to avoid “a big wheel” like in, say, BioShock or Ratchet & Clank.
“It was important to us that you didn’t feel like you had this huge inventory of a lot of stuff,” Weerasuriya told Game Informer. “If you had a huge amount of weapons it would take away from things that we’re trying to do, which is push you to moments where weapons matter.
“So the weapon system is based off that. It’s based on what the character can realistically carry, giving the player the option as the game goes on to equip or un-equip and replace those slots with any weapons.”
The Order: 1886 launches exclusively for the PlayStation 4 sometime next year.
