At the Video Game Awards last week a trailer was revealed for a new game called The Phantom Pain, however, many believe that this title is in fact a secret reveal for Metal Gear Solid 5. Its developer, Moby Dick Studios, has now released a batch of official screenshots for the game.
The developer’s website states that the trailer shown at the VGAs was running in real-time. “All footage is shown running in real-time on hardware equivalent to current generation consoles (PS3 & XBOX360).”
Many Metal Gear fans believe that this surprise announcement is actually a secret reveal for the next Metal Gear Solid game, and a large NeoGAF thread has pointed out several reasons why this could be the case, including the fact that Moby Dick Studio’s CEO Joakim Mogren’s first name is actually an anagram of Kojima.
