Mexican restaurant chain Chipotle, in collaboration with Moonbot Studios, has released an iOS title called The Scarecrow, the companies announced today.
The game—as well as a three-minute short (also made by Moonbot)—is designed to point out hte problems with factory farming and processed food. The short film plays at the start of the game, and is set to Fiona Apple’s eerie interpretation of “Pure Imagination” fromWilly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A trailer for the game and the short film itself are both embedded below.
“Our companies are a great fit because we both care deeply about what we do and doing it right,” Moonbot Studios creative partner Brandon Oldenburg said in a press release. “At Moonbot, we must have meaning in what we create. The Scarecrow story has it: imagination, heart, and a sense of play.”
The Scarecrow is currently available for free on iOS. Unlocking all the levels in the game and earning at least three stars on each will net players a buy one, get one free coupon to use at Chipotle locations.
