The Secret World Developer Diary Discusses Player Freedom

THE BUZZ: Funcom has released a new developer diary for its upcoming MMO, The Secret World.
“In this developer diary video, Lead Designer Martin Bruusgaard and Lead Content Designer Joel Bylos talk about what makes this system unique and why it will redefine the way you play MMOs,” says the developer.
EGM’s TAKE: The Secret World actually looks pretty interesting. The whole “all conspiracy theories being real” angle is a good one, and allows the developers a lot of freedom in design. The only issue we have is that it seems overly complicated. The game features more than 500 skills that are fully interchangeable anyway you please. That’s a lot of information to sift through and a lot of combinations to try before finding one right for you. Sure, there’s set cookie-cutter trees if you wish to use them, but there’s a chance that doing so will adversely-effect your power and experience while playing.
