The Sims 4 will see a worldwide launch on Windows PC and Mac OS X in fall 2014, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.
The new release window represents something of a delay from EA’s original release projections for The Sims 4‘—in May, EA expressed plans to release the new Sims by “early 2014.”
Pre-orders for The Sims 4 are already available through the series’ official website. Anyone who does pre-order The Sims 4 will automatically receive the Limited Edition version, which comes with “Life of the Party” digital content containing the Flaming Tiki Bar and “spectacular party costumes.” The Limited Edition version of The Sims 4 is priced at $59.99.
For the hardcore Sims fans out there, there’s also an Origin-exclusive Digital Deluxe version priced at $69.99, which comes with the Life of the Party content as well as the Up All Night digital content, which contains the Laser Light Show, new parties, outfits, decorations, and recipes, a digital soundtrack, and additional bonus content not yet revealed.
“The Sims franchise has the best fans int he world and their passion and enthusiasm is at an all-time high,” Rachel Franklin, vice president and general manager of The Sims Studio said in a press release. “Those millions of voices will fuel our development process, helping The Sims 4 to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made. We can’t wait to see our fans reaction when The Sims 4 comes out in fall 2014.”
