THE BUZZ: Sony has revealed the ten games that PS3 owners have received the most platinum trophies in.

EGM’s TAKE: Okay, first—should it be “platinum’d”, or would it be “platinumed”, or are both not valid English-language-wise? I think “platinumed” could be usable in the same way that “googled” is now a perfectly valid word—you know, with this crazy era of new technology needing new terms and all. Either way, don’t harp on me too much if you think I’m mistaken in my usage!

Anyhow, Sony released a list of the 10 games that have seen the most players earn up to the coveted Platinum Trophy. Here’s the rankings, in order of total Platinum Trophies earned:

  1. Assassin’s Creed II
  2. Modern Warfare 2
  3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  4. God of War 3
  5. Resident Evil 5
  6. inFamous
  7. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
  8. God of War (GoW HD Collection)
  9. Borderlands
  10. Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)

The blog post on Sony’s official PlayStation Blog notes a few things: the average Metacritic score for those games is 89, they’re all big sellers, very few of them have a wide array of multiplayer trophies (thus potentially making it harder to get the Platinum), and most of the games are older.

How many Platinum Trophies have you gotten so far, and have you platinum’d any of the above games?
