Design documents for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt that recently leaked online contain a whole mess of spoiler-heavy content, developer CD Projekt Red warns.
“It has come to our attention that some of the production files for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have emerged on the Internet,” CD Projekt Red’s head of marketing and PR Michael Platkow-Gilewski told Eurogamer. “A portion of the files contains information about the story of the game so we strongly advise against accessing them, as this may heavily impact and spoil your future gaming experience. We also like to reassure everyone that the disclosure of said documents does not affect the development cycle in any way.”
The documents found their way to Reddit, 4chan, and other Internet communities after the Google Drive account belonging to one of the studio’s developers was hacked. Details contained within the documents include production art, mission descriptions, scene breakdowns, and outlines of the the game’s various endings.
Those of you who can’t resist investigating the documents should keep in mind that they were never intended to outside eyes, and as such contain casual language meant to be shared between developers, such as “boob physics eye candy”—not that the context really makes that any less inappropriate.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One February 24, 2015. For more on the last chapter of Geralt of Rivia’s tale, check out Andrew’s E3 2014 preview.
