The Witcher 3 Won’t Take as Long to Develop

THE BUZZ: Adam Badowski, Managing Director at CD Projekt, has revealed that fans shouldn’t have to wait as long for the next Witcher game.
When asked if we should expect the same development time for the next Witcher game, he told Rock Paper Shotgun:
“It’s no secret that we’re constantly hiring. Our team will soon number 100, of which almost 10 percent come from outside of Poland. We’re gaining experience, our technology is becoming more and more complete every week, every month. And we’re definitely looking for ways to optimize and reduce development time.”
“Given all that, our next game should take us less time to create overall. Of course, other factors will come into play. If, for example, we decide to produce an expansion, that may slow the process down a bit.”
EGM’s TAKE: While long development times are good for ensuring quality, it does mean that occasionally franchises get forgotten.
