The Witcher 3′s Non-Linear Narrative Allows for Exploration and Progression

Posted on August 29, 2013 AT 02:18pm

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s non-linear narrative allows players to approach progress from any angle they want, writer Jakub Szamalek told PC Gamer in an interview.

“If you become tired, or bored, you can always go to a different place,” Szamalek told PC Gamer. “What’s exciting about the Witcher 3 main storyline is that it’s not linear structure branching, it’s actually a collection of elements which you have to find, combine, and then get a full picture in your head.”

According to Szamalek, this design gives The Witcher 3 a great deal of replayability. By performing additional playthroughs with a different approach, players will see certain story elements from “a slightly different angle on things.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime 2014.
