The World Ends With You Plot Thickens, Translator Says More In Store
Posted on August 24, 2012 AT 01:50pm
One of the more interesting news stories this week has been The World Ends With You, or rather, the expected news of a sequel that stemmed from a countdown site posted by Square Enix. Apparently, there’s still something afoot.
That much was hinted at by Brian Gray, a Tokyo-based localization scribe who’s worked as a lead translator on The World Ends With You, as well as Shadows of the Damned, the Kingdom Hearts series, and Monster Hunter Tri.
Per his Twitter account, Gray is telling everyone to keep paying attention to the countdown site:
Before everyone decides the
#twewy countdown is over, they might want to wait for the countdown to be over.#moredripthanleak— Brian Gray (@brilingual) August 24, 2012
Now we’re officially confused. If the iOS version of TWEWY leak from earlier today wasn’t all that Square Enix had in store, what else could be part of the upcoming announcement?
For what it’s worth, we’ve confirmed that Brian Gray is cited in the credits of The World Ends With You as the lead translator in the game’s “Localization Division” section, so his inside information is probably legit.
