Battlefield 3

THE BUZZ: Microsoft today released activity stats for Xbox Live for the last week of October, and two games fought for first place—Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The winner? Black Ops. Battlefield fans shouldn’t feel bad, however—remember that there are over 25 millions copies of Black Ops out there worldwide, so Battlefield 3 wouldn’t have a chance of being nearly as popular yet.

Battlefield 3 did get the win over another Call of Duty title that’s long been a top spot on the list—Modern Warfare 2.

Here’s the rest of the Xbox Live activity rankings for the week of October 31st.

Games

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops
  2. Battlefield 3
  3. Modern Warfare 2
  4. Gears of War 3
  5. FIFA 12
  6. Halo: Reach
  7. Madden NFL 12
  8. Batman: Arkham City
  9. Forza Motorsport 4
  10. GTA IV
  11. Call of Duty 4
  12. NBA 2K12
  13. FIFA Soccer 11
  14. Halo 3
  15. NHL12
  16. NCAA Football 12
  17. Call of Duty: WaW
  18. Red Dead Redemption
  19. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  20. Dead Island

Arcade

  1. LIMBO
  2. Dungeon Defenders
  3. Pinball FX2
  4. The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile
  5. REAL STEEL
  6. Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone
  7. DAYTONA USA
  8. Fruit Ninja Kinect
  9. NBA JAM: On Fire Edition
  10. Bejeweled 3
  11. Castle Crashers
  12. BurgerTime World Tour
  13. Toy Soldiers: Cold War
  14. GUARDIAN HEROES
  15. Trials HD
  16. DEAD RISING 2: CASE ZERO
  17. DEAD RISING 2: CASE WEST
  18. Magic: The Gathering — Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012
  19. From Dust
  20. Orcs Must Die!

EGM’s TAKE: Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty 4, and World at War—it really is kind of amazing how many Call of Duty titles are constantly in the list of most active games on Xbox Live. It isn’t surprising at all why Activision released one new title in the franchise every year.
