The third (and presumably final) making-of video for Ubisoft’s upcoming JRPG inspired downloadable game Child of Light explores the studio’s approach to the game’s fairy tale storytelling.

In the video (above), creative director Patrick Plourde, writer Jeffrey Yohalem, and others discuss various aspects of Child of Light’s story about young protagonist Aurora’s transformative journey, including how the dialogue in the game is all written in rhyme like an epic ballad (inspired by such works as Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s 1798 The Rime of the Ancient Mariner) and their efforts to make a character iconic enough for their children to draw from memory.

Child of Light launches on Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U next week, on April 30, worldwide.
