This generation, gaming has been on the receiving end of vast amounts of off-the-wall DLC. Character color palettes. Horse armor. Extra cars for a game with only three cars. This, however, takes the cake.

Witness the Beautiful Eye series, a new DLC pack from Granzella for PlayStation Home. These don’t just bring you new eye colors—they bring you whole new eyes! (Which may or may not have been made by an old Asian man, for whom making eyes is his exclusive job description.)

So, okay—DLC eyes. Kind of creepy. That alone, however, isn’t what seals the deal for me here—nor the fact that offering new eyes as DLC seems like we’ve run this whole “downloadable content” business idea way, way into the ground.

It’s the fact that you’re wanting me to purchase new eyes in a virtual online experience where this is what I see most of the time:

You know the only time you’ll actually notice that somebody has a posh pair of Beautiful Eye eyes? When you come across somebody who is temporarily offline, and you have fun taking advantage of the fact that things like “personal boundaries” and “physical sexual harassment” don’t exist in the virtual world.
