This Week in Gaming

Posted on February 5, 2012 AT 02:07pm

THE BUZZ: This week’s release list, while not as strong as last week’s, still comes out with a few heavy hitters. Jackie Estacado returns in The Darkness II, while new developer 38 Studios finally shows the world Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning. Nintendo 3DS owners get to hunt monsters and zombie dogs in Resident Evil: Revelations, and the utterly bizarre project from Monolith, Gotham City Imposters makes its debut. The rest of this weeks releases are below.

  • The Darkness 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) – February 7th
  • Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition (PS3, Xbox 360) – February 7th
  • Gotham City Impostors (PC, PSN, XBLA) – February 7th
  • House of the Dead 3 (PSN) – February 7th
  • Jak and Daxter HD Collection (PS3) – February 7th
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) – February 7th (NA), February 10th (EU)
  • Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations (PS3, Xbox 360) – February 7th
  • Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS) – February 7th
  • Shank 2 (PSN, XBLA, PC) – February 7th
  • The Simpsons Arcade Game (PSN) – February 7th
  • Circle Pad Pro (3DS, Gamestop Exclusive) – February 7th

EGM’s TAKE: We’re interested in seeing how well the Circle Pad Pro sells, and in general how the public takes to an accessory some said should have been built into the 3DS from the beginning. And is it just us, or does Namco seem to put out a new Naruto game every quarter? Old-school arcade fans should keep in mind that while the PSN version of The Simpsons Arcade Game is coming out this week, it is already out on XBLA.
