This Week’s PlayStation Plus Content
Posted on December 17, 2012 AT 11:38am
It’s Monday, which is followed by Tuesday, which brings us PlayStation Store updates! Tuesdays also bring us new goodies for PlayStation Plus—and this week, it’s another free game.
That game is Anomaly Warzone Earth—which I didn’t even know existed until today. As I know absolutely nothing about it, let me allow the official PlayStation Blog to fill us in:
Anomaly Warzone Earth is an extraordinary mixture of action and strategy in a reversed tower defense formula. Call it tower offense, if that’s a bit easier. The game tasks you with saving a near-future Earth from an alien onslaught. The invaders have captured world’s major cities, building huge turrets that destroy everything in their path. It’s up to you to lead an armor squad through the streets of cities like Baghdad and Tokyo, planning the route and strategically choosing which units to deploy in order to crush the opposition. Download it today and experience this fantastic twist on strategy gaming.
So, I have mixed opinions on us getting games such as these free via PS+. On one hand, I’d probably never have played Anomaly Warzone Earth otherwise—and if I end up loving it, then Sony has done me a huge favor. On the other hand, it doesn’t look like a genre of game I’ll have much interest in, and it’s hard to build hype in PS+ subscribers for the more niche games such as these.
How about you? How do you feel about this week’s PlayStation Plus content?
