Electronic Arts announced 3 new expansions for The Sims 3 are coming this year, and released a trailer for the first expansion, University Life.

Based on the picture above, which looks to be set sometime in the early 90’s when grunge was still relevant, it’s safe to assume University Life will perpetuate every dumb stereotype about college life imaginable.

Meanwhile, Island Paradise, as the name implies, will let players “take the helm of fully customizable houseboats and set sail in search of uncharted islands, create, own and manage resorts or discover what lies beneath the ocean through the new skill-based scuba diving and snorkeling activities.” Sounds WASP-y.

In addition to the three expansions, Electronic Arts announced two “stuff packs.” The Sims 3 70’s, 80’s, & 90’s Stuff comes out January 22. It allows players to “warp their Sims back in time with the hottest fashions, hairstyles and furnishings from decades past.”

The second stuff pack is due sometime this fall, and is “filled with clothing and décor inspired by iconic movie themes and settings.”

The third expansion is also due sometime this fall. It remains untitled, but apparently will allow Sims to travel to the future.
