TimeSplitters Rewind Now in Development for PC

A Crytek-authorized TimeSplitters game is now in development for PC and will be built using the CryEngine 3.
TimeSplitters Rewind is being developed by a team of fans which includes members of the original TimeSplitters team from Free Radical. It will include HD versions of multiplayer modes and challenges taken from the first three games.
“We are taking the best elements of all three games (multiplayer and challenges) and creating a whole new game. We are taking full advantage of the CryEngine 3 SDK, so while it looks great and runs extremely well – it will still *feel* like a TimeSplitters game. While it’s not a reboot, remake or sequel – we’re simply working hard to capture everything that made the original games awesome and giving it the HD touch,” project manager Michael Hubicka told Cooking With Grenades.
Online play for 8-16 players will be supported and the series favorite bots will also be making a comeback. Sadly split screen is not included as the CryEngine 3 simply doesn’t support this feature, according to Hubicka. A demo is planned for release in December.
