Titanfall

After demonstrating Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall at E3, EA director of global marketing Craig Owens informed Joystiq that the game would utilize dedicated serves for all its versions.

“We’re using Microsoft’s cloud compute initiative to run all our servers for it, so it’s all running on dedicated servers,” Owens told Joystiq. “We’ll spin up and spin down servers as necessary, and it’ll do all the AI hosting and physics calculations and all matchmaking and all that good stuff. It’s all dedicated servers, all the time.”

The developers at Respawn Entertainment have described Titanfall as a multiplayer-centric title, but one that blends a single-player campaign experience with the multiplayer. Respanw has not commented on whether Titanfall will feature any single-player whatsoever, instead indicating that the game is entirely built around multiplayer.

Titanfall launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC spring 2014.
