Today Brings Patch, Artorias of the Abyss DLC to Dark Souls

Today is a glorious day for Dark Souls fans, as we not only get a patch for the game, but also the Artorias of the Aybss DLC. Praise the sun!
If you were playing Dark Souls yesterday, you may have already received the 1.06 patch. However, today everybody should be getting it offered for downloading.
Here’s a list of the major changes as translated by FinalWolf over on Gamefaqs. Not mentioned, here, however, is the glorious change from “Victory Achieved” back to “You Defeated”—hardcore Dark Souls fans will no doubt appreciate that one.
Weapon and Shield Changes
Greatswords and Curved Greatswords are slower than before
Elemental Weapons are weaker than before
Eagle Shield down to 95% Physical Reduction from 100%
Blocking drains more stamina than before.
Stamina consumption increased for spear attacks from behind a shield.Armor Changes
Mask of the Father only provides 5% equip load bonus, down from 15%.
Mask of the Mother only provides 10% HP increase, down from 15%
Elite Knight Set poise is 46 (fixing irregularities caused by region and patch inconsistencies)Ring Changes
Dark Wood Grain Ring only enables unique rolling animation when under 25% equip burden. Increased movement speed at 25%-50% encumberance also removed.
Hornet Ring damage modifier lowered from 50 to 30Other General Changes
More Bonfire Warping locations – Undead Parish, Tomb of Giants, The Depths, Duke’s Archives, Painted World of Ariamis; removed useless Bed of Chaos warp point
Crystal Golems AoE attacks now inflict curse.
Critical damage reduced. This includes backstabs and riposte
Twilight Anor Londo NPCs no longer respawn
Environmental Lava Damage increasedGlitches and Fixes
Bottomless Box Glitch removed
Dragon Head glitch removed
Spell Swap glitch removed
Prism Stone item duplication glitch removed
Bow Backstab removed
Pendant Description fixed: “A simple pendant with no effect. Even so, pleasant memories are crucial to survival on arduous journeys”
Along with the patch, of course, comes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC content that those lucky PC players have been enjoying for a couple of months now. What’s included in the DLC? If you’re a true Dark Souls players, it doesn’t matter—all you need to know is that it’s out, and it costs $14.99 on PS3 or 1400 MS Points on the Xbox 360.
