Today’s PlayStation Store Updates for North America

THE BUZZ: It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for another round of new content on the PlayStation Store. So what are we in store for today?
PlayStation 3-game wise, no big PSN-specific releases this week, but we are getting three retail PS3 games as digital downloads: Dead Space 2, Fight Night Champion, and Monopoly Streets.
In terms of demos, we’ve got four: Disney Universe, Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and Rayman Origins.
Two new PS2 digital releases this week! Those games? Full Spectrum Warrior and Stuntman Ignition. Maybe not quite as exciting as the first two batches of PS2 re-releases, but we certainly could have done worse.
The PS1 gets only one game this week, but it’s a good one: Chrono Cross. Nice!
And, finally, in the “zero new games” department comes the PSP, NeoGeo Station, and Minis.
EGM’s TAKE: I never did get around to playing Dead Space 2 yet, so I’ll be curious to see what the digital version’s price is. Also, I’m really excited for Rayman Origins—if you’re a fan of beautifully-crafted 2D platformers, you should check it out as well!
And, as I’ve stated before, Chrono Cross really is a fantastic yet under-appreciated RPG. The game tried to do some new things and bring some progression to the concept of Japanese RPGs, but unfortunately a lot of fans wrote it off simply due to how different it was from Chrono Trigger. Really, it’s good! Give it a try, especially now that it’ll be cheap and easy to buy!
