Tokyo Game Show 2012 Sets Record Attendance, Announces 2013 Dates

As usual, the Tokyo Game Show has proven to be a profitable and marketable endeavor for all parties involved, with the event setting a new attendance record. Expect the numbers to keep climbing, too.
According to the official press release, 223,753 people showed up to the Makuhari Messe convention center, with the peak happening on the first “public” day of the event.
Considering that the majority of the games being shown were handheld and mobile titles, it’s impressive that the numbers didn’t dip from last year’s 222,668 mark—especially since both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 didn’t have any expected announcements from E3 this past summer.
Regardless, that just gives us time to hope for more next year. There’s also a set date for 2013, as the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association and Nikkei Business Publications have confirmed Thursday, September 19th to Sunday, September 22 as the schedule for the next Tokyo Game Show.
