Tokyo Jungle Actually Coming To North America On PS3, September 25

PlayStation C.A.M.P.’s Tokyo Jungle is usually the kind of game you don’t see outside of Japan. Maybe Sony knows that, because when it comes to North American PS3 consoles on September 25th, it’s getting a massive price cut.
Rather than the ¥3,900 ($49) that it costs in Japan, the localized version will be just 15 bucks, ensuring that a few more PS3 owners outside the target demographic might pick it up.
As the newest trailer for the game shows, the survival sim is a full-on war between dinosars, house pets, and whatever African wildlife happened to make its way to Japan since mankind left. That explains the lions and hyenas, but fails to establish why the Tyrannosaurus Rex isn’t , y’know, extinct.
Aside from building a pack of alike animals to fend off predators, you’ll have to find a mate (the trailer cuts out at the animal sex at 1:19, thankfully) and solve the mystery of mankind’s disappearance while surviving as long as possible.
Of course, that’s going to be really hard if you pick the wrong animal.
Out of 50 choices, one would think that something like the cheetah or the gorillas would be a more popular options than the chicken or the Pomeranian puppies, which practically beg to be maimed and/or eaten at every turn.
