Tom Clancy's The Division

A sequel to The Division is being worked on by Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft has officially announced.

“We’ve always envisioned the story in the game we launched in 2016 as the beginning chapter in a larger saga, and today we’re excited to share more info about what’s next for The Division universe,” creative director Julian Gerighty said.

The Division 2 is being developed in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Bucharest, and will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine.

No further details about the sequel were shared, but Gerighty promised that the team is taking everything it has learned over the past two years and applying it to The Division 2 to ensure that it is a success. More information about the game will be revealed during E3 2018 in June.

Ubisoft also announced a few new things for The Division, including a Year 2 anniversary celebration, new Global Events, Xbox One X support, and a new type of achievement called “Shields” that will unlock special rewards in The Division 2 when it launches.

The Division is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
