The new Tony Hawk game revealed to be in development last week is a mobile-only game, the skateboarding legend told Bloomberg in a recent interview.
“We’re working on a game for mobile devices this year,” Hawk told Bloomberg in a video interview. “We’ve never gone exclusively that direction yet, so I’m excited because, with the amount of time people are spending on their phones and their tablets playing games, we’ve never had our own game in that space, so I’m excited to provide one finally.
Hawk first revealed that a new game was in the works last week, on his Demolition Radio Sirius XM show. Shortly after, an Activision spokesperson confirmed to IGN that a new Tony Hawk is indeed in the works. It’s unknown if Robomodo, the developer behind Tony Hawk: Ride and Shred and the 2012 Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD will be handling the new mobile game, though the studio does have experience in that field, having creating a mobile companion game for the 2011 sci-fi thriller In Time starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.
