Toshiba Announces Shibasphere Home Console (Not Really)

Posted on April 1, 2013 AT 02:21pm

Toshiba looks to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo with their new (fake) home console, the Shibasphere.

As the name implies, the Shibasphere is a spheric game console that boasts no wires and no controllers, along with an impressive array of seemingly mundane, but totally awesome motion control games—chief among them Trade Show: Vegas Edition and Let’s Travel, which promises an authentic airport security check experience.

As listed on the official website, here’s the rundown of the Shibasphere’s tech specs:

  • 12 core 3.5 Ghz Processors
  • 4 GB GDDR5 RAM Graphics Card
  • 809.3b Infrared Motion Detection
  • 1080p Full HD
  • 7.1 Channel Surround Sound
