THE BUZZ: Microsoft has released some new footage from Red Lynx’s upcoming Trials Evolution.

Evolution is the highly anticipated sequel to the XBLA title, Trials HD, currently one of the best selling games on the service. It was originally given a release date of 2011 but was delayed until some time this year.

EGM’s TAKE: Evolution ups the ante by offering real time multiplayer, allowing four players to race against one another on the same track, something that the original didn’t offer. However, the game still retains all of the originals leaderboards allowing for competition and rivalries between friends, along with global stat tracking, to compare yourself to the rest of the world. A new track editor allows for more customization and an updated sharing system quickly lets you show the world your creation. The major change between Trials HD and Evolution is the move to outdoor and brighter environments. In the original, every track was housed inside a warehouse, now there are several outdoor tracks with even more destructibility than before. Evolution takes Trials HD and super-sizes it.
