Developer Hi-Rez Studios is postponing updates to Tribes: Ascend for the next six months while they buckle down and focus on their upcoming multiplayer online battle arena title, Smite.
“There are no major dev updates planned for Tribes: Ascend in the next six months,” studio co-founder Todd Harris posted on their official forums. “For the next six months our primary development focus is Smite. Beyond that is [Global Agenda 2]. And beyond that a [Tribes: Ascend 2] would be more likely than a major update to [Tribes Ascend]; but to be clear no devs are currently working toward TA2.”
According to Harris, the studio might completely new maps currently in progress and address some bug fixes for Tribes: Ascend—if time permits. In the meanwhile, the company will continue to support their community.
“We continue to support TA servers, online community events, tournaments with prizing, bringing Tribes to offline events like recent RTX and upcoming QuakeCon, and live-streaming,” said Harris.
