Trion Worlds Explains RIFT’s New REX Currency

Posted on May 30, 2013 AT 05:04am

Trion Worlds has decided to explain RIFT‘s new free-to-play currency, known as REX, for those who are a little confused by it.

REX is short for RIFT Exchange and is basically a middle-man currency. REX can be bought with real-money and then transferred into in-game store credits–you can also directly buy store credits for real cash. However, REX can be sold to other players for in-game currency before being converted. This allows players to purchase REX for in-game gold and then transfer it into store credits meaning that they don’t have to pay any real world money at all. It also gives people with lots of real cash a chance to earn lots of in-game gold by selling REX.

You can check out more details over on the game’s official website. By the way, that free-to-play weekend for former subscribers is now live.
