Tropico 5 retail release delayed in North America

Posted on May 30, 2014 AT 02:38am

Due to a delay in the packaging manufacturing, Tropico 5 will not be released at retail in North America until June, Kalypso Media has announced.

“Fans and consumers who pre-ordered Tropico 5 for retail will be glad to know that the teams are working hard to solve the manufacturing issue and that they will receive the complete Tropico 5 retail package on this date,” the developer said in a statement.

The game will now be available from June 17 at retail in North America. However, it can still be purchased digitally right now through Steam, Green Man Gaming, and Kalypso’s official website.

Mac and Xbox 360 versions of the game are set to launch later this summer, with a PlayStation 4 release following in the fall.

Tropico 5 is a noticeable, if subtle, revision on the Tropico formula. The new Eras and the Dynasty system create additional gameplay layers without disrupting the balance of the experience,” Joe Layton said in our review, which you can read here.
