Tomb Raider

Square-Enix has named True Blood actress Camilla Luddington as the new “performance actress” for Lara Croft.

Following an international talent search using scouts from both the U.S. and Europe, the publisher says that Luddington stood out for delivering “both a depth of emotion and the youthful tone needed for Lara Croft.”

She will make her first public appearance as Lara next month at Nerd HQ and Comic Con International in San Diego.

“This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right,” said Darrell Gallagher, studio head at Crystal Dynamics. “This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction.”

Does she look the part?
