Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dontnod Entertainment’s upcoming episodic adventure Twin Mirror.

The trailer below shows off main protagonist Sam’s greatest talent: his Mind Palace. Sam has trained his brain to create his very own Mind Palace, a place he can access at will and use to recreate memories from the past. Players must use both the real world and Sam’s Mind Palace to solve puzzles and piece together what happened in his past.

Another of the game’s core mechanics is also debuted in this trailer: The Double. Sam’s inner voice takes the form of a sarcastic version of himself called The Double. While piecing together Sam’s past, players will also discover exactly what The Double wants.

“We are very excited to reveal two of our major gameplay features for Twin Mirror here at Gamescom,” senior producer Fabrice Cambounet said. “We believe this is a good insight into our unique narrative approach, having gameplay features intertwined within the story we want to tell. We can’t wait for the players to uncover the secrets hidden in Twin Mirror with the first episode in 2019!”

Twin Mirror‘s first episode, Lost on Arrival, is scheduled to launch in early 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
