Two More of Cave Story Developer’s Games Coming to 3DS

Two more Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya creations are coming to Nintendo 3DS, and one is just around the corner.

Like his smash hit Cave Story, Amaya’s upcoming games started life as freeware titles. Ikachan, originally released in 2000, is a side-scroller described as similar to Cave Story, but set underwater—an underwater cave, to be more precise. Titular hero “Ikachan,” a squid trapped inside the cave, must find a way out.

The other game, Guxt, is a five-stage vertical shooter that originally came out in 2007.

Both games will be localized and released for 3DS on the 3DS eShop by Nicalis.

Ikachan is priced at $4.99 and dated for release January 31. Guxt has yet to receive a price or release date.
