Mortal Kombat series creator Ed Boon has promised that two brand new fighters for Mortal Kombat X will be revealed at E3 next week.

Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter about the possiblity of new characters, Boon said: “YES! Two of my new favorites will be at E3!!”

Mortal Kombat X was officially announced earlier this week, with a debut trailer that showed Scorpion and Sub-Zero squaring off against each other, and also hinted at a version of Injustice: Gods Among Us‘ background interaction system being incorporated into the game.

The game is expected to launch in 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
