THE BUZZ: U.K newspaper The Sun is claiming that terrorists are using Call of Duty to plot their attacks.

The paper says that “conspirators” are using the shooter, along with Halo and Medal of Honor, to discuss their plans over Xbox Live.

“Islamic extremists know cops monitor phone calls, emails and online messages. So they are turning to PlayStation and Xbox games to keep their deadly plans secret,” the article reads.

The Sun also claims that would be terrorists are being trained using Call of Duty as a simulator.

“There has even been evidence would-be jihadists treat war games as training tools, a bit like a pilot might use a flight simulator.”

EGM’s TAKE: This is purely a scare-mongering article. Why would terrorists be using Call of Duty to train? What can that game possibly teach about real life warfare? The quick answer is nothing as there’s barely any realism in it. Secondly they list Halo and Medal of Honor but why no Battlefield? We guess these would be terrorists don’t require tank or jet training, just the ability to run around a training ground really fast spraying bullets. This article is ridiculous and any one who believes it needs to play a game and see what its really like.
