The Xbox 360 has outsold the PlayStation 3 and Wii in the U.S. for the 21st consecutive month during September.
Microsoft’s console sold 270,000 units last month claiming 49 percent of current gen console sales, according to newly released NPD data. Nintendo and Sony didn’t offer up any specific numbers for September. Can Microsoft make it a 22nd month in October or will the newly released PlayStation 3 Super slim finally break the streak?
“Hardware sales are up on an average sales per week basis compared to August for the NDS, 3DS, PS3, Vita and 360, which points to momentum heading into the holiday season,” said NPD analyst Anita Frazier.
