THE BUZZ: It appears that Ubisoft is pushing Assassin’s Creed into new areas in an attempt to enlist even more fans to the series.

We already know that the game features a new hero and setting, so it makes sense for Ubisoft to be looking to interest new fans.

“This is a great time for gamers to join the adventure,” said Ubisoft UK boss Rob Cooper. “There’s a huge will from Ubisoft to bring more gamers into this universe.”

“Assassin’s Creed 3 is the biggest and most ambitious launch in Ubisoft’s history so we absolutely believe this game will continue to grow the franchise,” he added.

EGM’s TAKE: If you haven’t already played at least one game in the Assassin’s Creed series then you’re missing out. The major problem is that at the moment picking up the newest game, Revelations, can lead to a lot of confusion as the story takes prior knowledge as a given. With a new setting and hero Assassin’s Creed III is the perfect chance for new players to enter this amazing world without having to play four other games beforehand. The only issue is that if the previous games didn’t interest you, then this one probably won’t either. If that’s the case, what’s wrong with you? This is a great series! What, you only play sports games? Jeez, you seemed much more well rounded than that. And, just so you know, you look nothing like your profile picture.
