Ubisoft CEO says Wii U will ‘change the video game industry’

Posted on July 19, 2011 AT 02:02pm

Speaking with Gamasutra, Ubisoft chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot said that his company is already planning on titles for the launch of the Wii U, just as they were there day one for hardware such as the Xbox 360 and 3DS.

“We’re going to continue to take this approach,” Guillemot said to Gamasutra. “We feel this console is coming with very innovative features that will change the video game industry and we want to be a part of that.”

Guillemot then went on to say that he believes Nintendo’s gamble with new methods of gameplay with the Wii U will pay off for the company.

“I love that you have a screen very close to you,” he explained. “You can get information and send it as well. But you don’t have to learn too many things.”
