Even though Ubisoft has openly stated their concerns about a near-100 percent piracy rate of their PC titles, the company is still porting survival adventure I Am Alive to PC early in September. ‘Question is, will it be worth it?
Ubisoft made some waves when they claimed that free-to-play was the only logical route for their PC games, citing a piracy rate that was in the 93-to-95-percent range for most titles.
Given the production costs involved with ports (and considering that I Am Alive wasn’t exactly a hot seller), it’s surprising to hear that the game is releasing for PC at all, much less so late.
However, Ubisoft’s press release says the title will be available on Steam staring September 13th. Thankfully, the PC version will have more-polished graphics, an Easy mode with “infinite retries” included, and chapter selection.
