A new EA Sports UFC 3 trailer follows an up-and-comer in the sport as they advance through the game’s new G.O.A.T. career mode.
After creating a character, players will progress through the career mode, training, winning fights, and building a following to be top of the class in both fighting and fan popularity. As players win fights and move closer toward a belt, fans will jump on their bandwagon, but fame is a fickle mistress, and losing fights can cause a loss of these followers as quickly as they came. New in UFC 3, choices you make outside the Octagon will also impact your following, forcing players to think carefully about how they promote themselves.
Following a recent multiplayer beta, fans were concerned that the game’s monetized loot box system would promote a pay-to-win competitive model, not unlike Star Wars Battlefront II. Unlike Battlefront II, however, the bonuses acquired through UFC 3‘s loot boxes are restricted to a particular mode, with the standard multiplayer staying free from any imbalances.
EA Sports UFC 3 launches February 2nd on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
