When PAX Prime begins near the end of the month, Saints Row developer DS Volition will be showing off its next yet-to-be-announced title.

Just revealed a bit ago via a booking announcement sent out to media outlets (including EGM), Deep Silver and Volition will be revealing the studio’s next project as part of their roster of games on display at the next major Penny Arcade Expo event. The game will first be unveiled as part of the panel “Quiz Show Hour with Volition – Project Reveal & Prizes!” on Friday, August 29th at 10:00AM in the Sandworm Theatre.

So what could this game be? Well, I’d have a few guesses. Obviously, sometimes relating to Saints Row would make a lot of sense—but would it be a new game in the series, or could it be a PS4/Xbox One reworking of Saints Row IV? Honestly, I’d be happy either way.

Volition is also well known for another gaming franchise, Red Faction, but the rights to that are now in the hands of Nordic Games—so that one can almost certainly be crossed off the list. And, let’s also not push aside the possibility of an entirely new properly coming from the studio. As much as I’m sure they enjoy working on Saints Row, I would totally understand if they wanted to try something a little different after spending so much time on the franchise.

Whatever it is, we’ll find out on August 29th—unless internet leaks spoil the fun first.
