THE BUZZ: Sony has announced the official release date and price of the upcoming Shade Survival DLC for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

The DLC will hit the PlayStation Store next week on March 13. Shade Survival mode is a new multiplayer game type that allows you to face off against waves of enemies with friends. There are eight rounds in total and each round throws progressively tougher Djinn at you.

“The Djinn’s ability to catch fire and teleport poses a formidable challenge to team strategy and coordination, and later rounds include highly skilled Djinn sporting extra armor and firepower, so get ready for a hearty battle,” said Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli.

The DLC will cost $5.99, but if you’re a member of the Fortune Hunters Club it will be free.

EGM’s TAKE: This seems like your average wave defense game mode, however the Djinn abilities should help keep things fresh and challenging. The ability to teleport will certainly throw up some interesting circumstances, especially if they start to flank you. For $6 it’s a nice little game mode to keep you interested, or to bring you back if you have already done everything else.
