THE BUZZ: Sony has confirmed that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will use the the publishers own online pass system, known as PSN Pass, to access the game’s online component.
Juan Jimenez, Software Manager for Sony Spain, confirmed that the game would make use of the pass. A one time code will be provided with new copies of the game which allows free access to multiplayer, while second-hand purchases will have to pay for access.
EGM’s TAKE: It’s heading to that point where all new game copies will come with an online pass standard. This not only hurts used sales, but rentals from companies like Game Fly.
