Uncharted 4 multiplayer will soon see a host of new competitive content via the 1.21 update, as revealed in a recent developer livestream.
The frontrunner of the content drop is the new permanent multiplayer mode, King of the Hill. Like most KotH game modes, two teams of players must capture a rotating sequence of objectives and hold each until the new objective appears. Uncharted 4 will mix up the formula with its Victory Hill mechanic, which gives the losing team a chance for redemption. One final point will spawn at the end of the match that ends the round if the winning teams grabs it, but gives the losers a second chance at victory if they snatch it up first.
Three new weapons will be handed out in the content update, including the INSAS and Type-95 long guns, as well as the scoped Competition Pistol. New vanity items are another bonus players can expect, such as the Savage Starlight outfits that will be familiar to any fans of The Last of Us and its in-game comic collectibles.
The new Uncharted 4 1.21 content update is launching free for all players on Friday, March 17th. While intriguing, the 1.21 update doesn’t appear to be quite as substainial as the previous content update that introduced the new co-op survival mode.
