Amy Hennig, head writer and creative director of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, has left the company, Sony confirmed to Polygon.

IGN first reported Hennig’s departure last night, citing “numerous trusted sources” saying that Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley. Straley co-directed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves with Hennig and Druckmann is listed as one of the writers, also alongside Hennig.

In addition to the Uncharted games, Hennig also had a hand in the Jak and Daxter series and served as director, producer, and writer for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, and Legacy of Kain: Defiance.

According to Sony’s statement issued to Polygon, “the development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted” by the shake up.
